Bowerbird, Adelaide’s leading showcase of Australian designers and makers, returns to the Adelaide Showground from 13 – 15 May. With the borders now open, visitors will enjoy local and interstate returning favourites, exciting new makers and talented emerging designers. We take a look at some of the returning talent, and newcomers to Bowerbird this year!

A new kids’ hair salon has officially opened at Westfield Marion and it’s a certified DREAM for kids and parents alike! That’s right, last week saw the big reveal on Adelaide’s latest and dreamiest space for kiddos to be spruced, spiked, sparkled, styled and all shmicked up and let’s just say, your kids will be on cloud 9 at Dream Cuts!

Whether you have a master chef wannabe in your house or your little one simply loves to bake and create, Scoffed school holiday kids cooking classes are a great way for your kids to spend some time learning a new skill, making plates (and mates)… and staying off the screen!

Presented by the History Trust of South Australia, South Australia’s History Festival is one of the state’s largest open-access community events. The month-long festival is returning for its 18th year in May 2022, and for the first time ever you can get a sneak peek of what is on offer through the virtual program launch on Thursday 7 April.

The Design Files Kids Art Awards will award prizes to 5 talented young Aussie artists. Young artists aged up to 16 are invited to create an A4-sized, 2-dimensional artwork in any medium, inspired by the theme ‘Home’. 100% of the entry fees ($5 per entry) will be donated to Children’s Ground – a community-led charity working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities over a 25-year period to make real and lasting change.
