The Adelaide Film Festival has launched AFF Youth, South Australia’s premier program dedicated to directly engaging South Australian students with the creative industries as viewers, makers, and learners.

The Adelaide Film Festival this week launched AFF Youth, South Australia’s premier program dedicated to directly engaging South Australian students with the creative industries as viewers, makers, and learners.

AFF Youth is jam-packed with the very best of local and international screen content, insightful industry sessions, and an exciting Creative Industries Expo, where students and teachers can meet screen production companies and tertiary institutions, to help students map their pathway to the creative industries.

AFF Youth is also for the young at heart, with an exciting screen program open for all to attend. There’s a huge variety of feature films, documentaries and shorts packages, covering contemporary issues such as diversity, the status of girls, First Nations politics and the vulnerability of children in crisis zones and political struggle.

AFF Youth is the newest and youngest arm of the acclaimed Adelaide Film Festival, supported by the South Australian Department for Education.

AFF Youth prepares a new generation of bold content makers and brave audiences by fostering a creative career pathway and by showing young people the best of global content for youth.

Monday 26 – Friday 30 July
The 2021 AFF Youth screening program will feature the best in local, national and international screen content. The program will include films, TV, games and VR plus student works from the Statewide Schools Filmmaking Competition

Creative Industries Expo
Wednesday July 28
During the AFF Youth festival, students and teachers will be able to attend a single-day Creative Industries Expo at a nearby location to give students both a taste of the industry and quality hands-on experiences.

Exhibitors in attendance will cover creative and technical industries, including film production, animation, VFX, and games. Many of South Australia’s tertiary institutions who offer courses in the creative industries will also be in attendance, ready to talk to students about study opportunities.
