Carclew Playmakers – Summer 2025-26 Theatre Program

Carclew Playmakers: The Ultimate Summer Theatre Adventure for Kids + Teens! If you have got a young creative at home who loves to perform, tell stories, or just dive headfirst into imaginative play, Carclew’s Playmakers program is basically summer-holiday heaven. Designed for young people aged 10 – 17, this dynamic theatre program is all about creating, exploring, performing and, most importantly, having a whole lot of FUN with some of Adelaide’s most exciting theatre artists. And the best part? No experience needed. None. Zero. Zilch. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to play, and Carclew will take care of the rest.   Choose Your Playmakers Adventure Carclew knows that not all creative kiddos are the same, some want to dip a toe in, and others want to leap straight onto the stage, so they have created three different ways to join the fun:   Week 1 – Try-It-Out Week Think: games galore, character-building, creative play, and heaps of low-pressure fun. Perfect for beginners, kids who want to explore theatre without the performance pressure, or anyone who just loves imaginative chaos in the best possible way.   Week 2 – Create & Perform This one is for the budding directors, drama lovers and big idea generators. Across the week, participants work with professional theatre artists to create original scenes, learn the basics of sound design, and collaborate on a polished live performance for a festival-style showing at the end. Big vibes. Big creativity. Big stage moment.   Weeks 1 & 2 – The Full Experience Can’t choose? Do both! Start with the playful foundations in Week 1, then build on everything you’ve learned to perform in Week 2. The perfect immersion for young people who want to really dive deep into the world of theatre-making. The Details 🕙 10am – 3pm daily 📍 Carclew House, 11 Jeffcott Street, North Adelaide 🎭 Ages 10–17 🎟️ No experience needed — just enthusiasm!
