REVIEW: ASO’s Back to the Future in Concert

"I experienced something truly special: Back to the Future on the big screen with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra performing the soundtrack live at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre," writes KIDDO reviewer, Marisabel Gonzalez.

Before going inside, there was a replica of the famous DeLorean on display, and people happily lined up to take photos with it.

Inside, the atmosphere felt just as fun—there were lots of food and drink options, friendly faces, and people of all ages excited for the show.

When the movie began, the lights dimmed like a cinema, but the orchestra was right beneath the screen. It was amazing how perfectly the music blended with the film.

A man wearing a vest and red jacket sits beside a tuba, smiling and looking relaxed in a casual setting.

“You could watch the movie and almost forget the orchestra was there—or focus on the musicians and forget the movie—because both were so captivating.”

The audience laughed at the jokes, clapped during the exciting parts, and stayed engaged the whole time. The conductor addressed the crowd warmly at the beginning, and at the end the orchestra took a bow as the audience cheered.

This wasn’t just a movie night—it was a fantastic way for families and kids to enjoy a classic film while getting a fun introduction to orchestras and live music.

If you ever get the chance to go, I’d definitely recommend it. It’s a unique and memorable experience that brings movie magic to life in a whole new way.
