St John Ambulance are thrilled to announce family favourite Emma Memma will be joining them to add her unique magic to the festivities for the 80th St John Carols by Candlelight on the 14th of December in Elder Park/ Tarntanya Wama.

Emma Memma shared her excitement, saying, “I am absolutely delighted to be part of this year’s Carols. It’s such a special event that brings joy and warmth to so many families, and I can’t wait to share in the magic of the evening with everyone.”

This announcement follows the July reveal of the incredibly talented Dami Im, renowned for her emotive and powerful vocals, not to mention her legion of fans known as “The Dami Army.”, will also be performing.

As the proud custodians of Carols since 2022, St John Ambulance SA CEO Mark Groote says, “We are thrilled to welcome Emma Memma to her first Carols and to celebrate Christmas for the 80th time with South Australians. Carols is an extension of the work we do daily where community wellbeing is our priority.”

St John Carols by Candlelight is one of the most joyful and well attended events on South Australia’s festive calendar. First held in 1944, it attracted an estimated crowd of 50,000, almost 10 percent of South Australia’s population at the time. Carols has grown to become a national television broadcast on Channel 7, boasting high-profile artists while still keeping the essence of the event that brings together family and friends to celebrate the spirit of Christmas and sing along to their favourite Christmas carols and songs.

SA families as well as social groups are encouraged to put 14 December in the diary as the time to dress in their best Christmas attire, pack a picnic rug, and come down to Elder Park to enjoy a free afternoon and evening of entertainment, including the City of Adelaide Pre-Show Concert from 5.00pm.

This year, St John Carols by Candlelight will be broadcast nationally on Channel 7, via 7Two and 7Plus on Sunday, 15 December 2024, as well as on Christmas Day.

Gates open at 3.00pm, and the concert commences at 8.15pm, culminating in a spectacular fireworks show with over 15,000 expected in Elder Park/ Tarntanya Wama this year.
