Walford Anglican School for Girls unveils new all-seasons uniform

Walford Anglican School for Girls proudly announces a groundbreaking redesign of its school uniform, set to debut in 2025.

This marks the first time an independent girls’ school in South Australia has introduced a trans-seasonal wardrobe, a testament to Walford’s commitment to innovation and studentcentred development. This versatile and modern uniform embodies Walford’s forward-thinking focus on empowering girls and young women.

The redesign of the Walford uniform was inspired by the creativity and vision of our students. During the School’s Festival of Ideas, students expressed a desire for more diversity and inclusivity in their uniform options. This feedback was the catalyst for a comprehensive review and redesign process, involving students, parents, and alumnae. The result is a uniform that honours Walford’s rich history while embracing modern values of diversity, inclusion, and empowerment.

Walford Principal, Dr Deborah Netolicky, shared her thoughts on the new uniform: “The current Walford uniform has proudly represented our school since 1982. As we move into 2025, we embrace a new era defined by the dynamic and evolving world in which our students live. This new uniform reflects the values that have defined our School for over a century and our commitment to fostering an environment where each student can belong, thrive, express her individuality, and achieve her best, her way.”

Designed by national uniform designers Noone, the new uniform features a range of interchangeable items that allow for personal expression that can be worn in any season.

“Students can now choose from a variety of uniform items that suit their individual preferences, styles, activities, and comfort needs. This all-seasons wardrobe enhances practicality and empowers each student to dress for their day,” said Dr Netolicky.

A generous two-year transition period, and an all-seasons approach that requires buying fewer items overall, will support parents during the changeover to the new uniform.
