Investing in teachers for a brighter future in South Australia

Catholic Education South Australia (CESA) is making a significant investment in its teachers, ensuring a brighter future for South Australian children. This commitment to educational excellence is evident in the innovative programs and professional development opportunities being introduced across the state.

This August 19-25, during Catholic Schools Open Week, you have the chance to see firsthand the impact of this investment. Visit local Catholic schools to meet the dedicated educators and learn more about the programs shaping the future of education in South Australia.

Catholic Education South Australia views the professional development of teachers as a critical component of its educational strategy. The appointment of a designated leader of learning, supported by a system coach in every Catholic school, ensures that each school’s improvement priorities are driven by data and tailored to meet the needs of students.

Through ongoing professional learning and a focus on evidence-based teaching practices, CESA is committed to enhancing literacy and numeracy outcomes. This approach is supported by partnerships with leading educational practitioners, ensuring that teachers are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.

CESA has launched a STEM pilot program in six Catholic schools, providing students with hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This initiative is designed to equip students with the skills needed for the jobs of tomorrow. As part of this program, teachers receive specialised training to deliver high-quality STEM education, fostering a love of learning and innovation in their students.

Additionally, CESA recently hosted a pivotal meeting on Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) certification, emphasising the importance of professional growth and recognition for teachers. By supporting teachers in achieving HALT certification, CESA is ensuring that students benefit from the expertise of educators who are leaders in their field.

Join us during Catholic Schools Open Week from August 19-25 to discover how Catholic Education South Australia is investing in teachers to create a brighter future for students.
