An unmissable documentary-theatre work coming this May

How are babies made? Are aliens real? And is it possible to lick your elbow?

Coming soon, Windmill Theatre Company’s genre-busting, documentary theatre work, Creation Creation.

Created for ages 10 and up, Creation Creation sees director Rosemary Myers (Bluey’s Big Play, Girl Asleep) team up with celebrated documentary theatre maker, Roslyn Oades, long-time collaborator Jonathon Oxlade and visual artist Fleur Elise Noble to solve some of life’s biggest questions.

Roslyn Oades collected over 35 hours of interview recordings with members of the community aged between the ages of 8 and 102, starting each interview with the question, ‘what big mystery would you like an answer to?’. She then delved further, asking them their thoughts, answers and solutions to these mysteries.

Joining the cast this season is James Smith together with Fleur, as ‘The Creators’. Together, they build, battle and brawl their way through a series of questions posed by the interviewees, responding in real-time through the use of puppetry, mime, animation, illustration, sculpture and dance.

Part theatre show, part art installation, the result is deeply moving while laugh-out-loud funny. A true celebration of the diversity of our community, the show tackles some big topics in poignant, light-hearted and silly ways. An important work, guaranteed to spark conversations long after the curtain closes. Tickets are selling fast.

What the critics say:
