From 11am, The Parade will come alive with more than 50 amazing food and drink stalls, including arkhé, Fair Seafood and Bickford’s. And it’s completely free to enter!
Premier of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas, said: “We know how much fans love the AFL Gather Round atmosphere, plus the chance to explore Adelaide and beyond. More than 70,000 people enjoyed the Norwood Food & Wine Festival last year – discovering the best of our state and its capacity to host major events in style.”
Whether you’re a foodie or a footy fan, there’s something for everyone. The day will feature three AFL games, including the St Kilda vs. GWS Giants match at Norwood Oval at 2:50pm. Don’t worry if you can’t get a seat at the game—the matches will be shown live at dedicated watch zones and a sensory area at Norwood Hoyts.
The festival will also feature South Australian winery Penfolds, showcasing its world-famous wines in a stylish new space where guests can drop by for canapés and tastings. And for those who love a bit of kitchen magic, top local chefs, including Callum Hann, will be showing off their skills in the Tasting Australia Kitchen cooking demos.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! Aussie rock band Birds of Tokyo will hit the stage at 6pm to perform their greatest hits.
Businesses along The Parade will also be open for trade on Saturday, 12 April, so get ready to explore and enjoy before the big day. And if you’re attending the festival and have a Gather Round match ticket, you can hop on the City-Norwood bus shuttle for free!
