A super simple Wimpy Kid costume for Book Week

Book Week is almost here, and it’s time to bring one of the most beloved book characters to life.

Greg Heffley, the hilarious and relatable star of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, is the perfect choice for your child’s costume this year. With over 275 million copies of the Wimpy Kid books sold worldwide, dressing up as Greg is a surefire way to spread smiles and celebrate the joy of reading.

Embodying Greg’s iconic look is refreshingly easy.

What you’ll need:

  • White t-shirt
  • Shorts or jeans
  • Trainers
  • Backpack

What to do:

  • Dress up in your Greg-inspired outfit of a t-shirt, jeans and trainers.
  • Add your backpack – bonus points if No Brainer: Diary of a Wimpy Kid (18) is peeking out.
  • Walk with a slouch, and you’re basically Greg!

Costume Variations:

While Greg’s signature look of a plain tee and jeans is easy to recreate, you could also draw inspiration from some of his other iconic outfits throughout the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Consider dressing up as:

  • Greg’s Halloween ‘Two-Headed Monster’ costume seen in Double Down

No Book Week would be complete without reading, of course. So grab your favourite Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, find a cozy nook, and get transported into Greg’s world once again. You’ll be laughing, reminiscing, and making new memories with this beloved character.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the Wimpy Kid craze, dressing as Greg Heffley promises an unforgettable Book Week. Get ready to embody the spirit of one of literature’s most endearing protagonists and reignite your love of reading along the way!
