If you’re already mentally preparing for the September school holidays and wondering how you’re going to keep the kids entertained (and ideally, exhausted by bedtime), Adelaide University Sport & Fitness has you covered. Their School Holiday Program is back, offering two full weeks of active fun for children aged 5-11.
Running from Saturday 28 September to Wednesday 9 October at the Graduates Clubhouse in Park 10, North Adelaide, this program is designed to get kids moving, trying new things, and making friends along the way. And with sessions running from 9am to 5pm, it’s a proper full-day affair that works for busy families.

What’s on offer
Forget sitting around. This program packs in a mix of entry-level sports, themed activity days, inflatables, challenges, arts and crafts, and good old-fashioned games. Morning and afternoon sport sessions bookend each day, with creative activities woven throughout to give growing bodies a chance to recharge.
The beauty of a program like this is that kids don’t need to be sporty or experienced in any particular activity. Everything is designed at an introductory level, so whether your child has never kicked a football or is already a budding netballer, they’ll find something that suits. It’s about building confidence, developing skills, and having a go in a supportive environment.
For kids who might be a bit hesitant about joining in, the mix of sport and non-sport activities means there’s always something to look forward to. The creative sessions offer a breather from the physical stuff, while the themed days keep things fresh and unpredictable.

Making new mates
One of the best parts of holiday programs like this is the chance for kids to meet others from different schools and suburbs. With team games, group challenges, and plenty of collaborative activities built into each day, friendships tend to form pretty quickly when everyone’s running around together.
For kids who might be starting at a new school next year or who want to broaden their social circle, these kinds of programs offer a low-pressure way to practice those social skills while having fun.

The practical details
Here’s what you need to know:
- Dates: Saturday 28 September to Wednesday 9 October
- Times: 9am to 5pm daily
- Location: Graduates Clubhouse, Park 10, North Adelaide
- Ages: 5-11 years
- Cost: $80 per child, per day
One thing to note: lunch isn’t provided, so you’ll need to pack morning tea and lunch for your child each day. The good news is that means you can cater to whatever your kid actually eats, rather than navigating mystery catering.
Book your spot
Spots are already filling up, so if this sounds like the kind of active, varied program your child would love, don’t leave it too late. Whether you’re booking a single day or the whole fortnight, getting in early means you’ll have more flexibility with which days work for your family.
Park 10 in North Adelaide is a beautiful spot to spend the day, with plenty of green space for all those outdoor activities. And with the Graduates Clubhouse as home base, kids have a proper facility to work from.
