South Australian not-for-profit KickStart for Kids is calling for urgent winter clothing donations for children aged 5–12 ahead of its July school holiday camp.

South Australian not-for-profit KickStart for Kids is calling for urgent clothing donations ahead of its July Camp KickStart School Holiday Program, and your family can help.

Camp KickStart provides school holiday care for vulnerable and disadvantaged children aged 5 to 12, giving them the chance to enjoy fun activities, make new friends and feel supported. As part of the program, KickStart for Kids sets up pop-up shops where children can choose brand new clothes, an experience many have never had before.

Founder Ian Steel says the need is real. “Our kids we look after are in desperate need of new winter clothes. With cost of living, these kids and their families are doing it so tough at the moment. If you have a chance, please drop off new clothing, socks, shoes, undies. We are so grateful!”

Donations can cost as little as $3 from Kmart, Big W or Target, and the following new items are urgently needed:

Shoes (especially sizes 6 and 7), socks and undies (all sizes), sleepwear and pyjamas (boys sizes 7–16, girls sizes 5–16), windcheaters and warm tops (boys size 5 and sizes 9–16, girls sizes 7–16), trackpants (sizes 5, 6, 7 and 9–16), leggings (all sizes), shorts for boys (sizes 9, 14 and 16) and girls (all sizes), and t-shirts for girls (sizes 8–16).

Drop donations to KickStart for Kids at 87 James Melrose Road, Novar Gardens SA 5040. If you can’t donate clothing, you can make an online donation at kickstartforkids.com.au/donate.
