These winter school holidays, Monarto Safari Park is taking families on a prehistoric adventure that connects the ancient world to the incredible wildlife roaming the park today.

Ancient Animals runs from Saturday 4 July to Sunday 19 July 2026 and invites kids to journey back millions of years and discover the surprising links between prehistoric giants and their modern descendants.

Visitors can meet the mighty woolly mammoth and its closest living relative, the Asian elephant, uncover what T. rex and African lions have in common, and see how prehistoric giants evolved into the amazing animals living at the park today.

Along the way, kids can complete a prehistoric scavenger quest, enjoy dinosaur and Ice Age-themed activities, and uncover the incredible story of evolution.

It’s a wild adventure the whole family will love!
