An intergenerational playgroup to check out these holidays

An older woman and a young girl collaborate on a project, sharing ideas and working together at a table.
Looking for a meaningful activity to enjoy with your little ones? Helping Hand's The Learning Tree is an intergenerational playgroup where children aged 0-5 and aged care residents come together to share laughter, stories, and play.

What is an Intergenerational Playgroup?

The Learning Tree Intergenerational Playgroup is a weekly gathering where children aged 0-5 and aged care residents come together to share laughter, stories, and play. Through interactive activities, games, and storytelling, this playgroup creates a special space where the youngest and oldest members of the community can connect, learn, and build beautiful, lasting memories.

Why join?

Intergenerational playgroups offer countless benefits, including:

  • Social and emotional development for young children

  • A sense of purpose and joy for older adults

  • Stronger community connections across generations

  • Fun and engaging experiences for families

Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, or caregiver, The Learning Tree is a wonderful way to bond with your child while making a positive impact in the lives of local seniors.
