We’ve listed the awesome kid-friendly activities to check out at Bowerbird this weekend (23–24 November).
DO
Decorate wooden ornaments and hang them on Bowerbird’s beautiful tree just outside Santa’s workshop! When the kiddos are done, pick up a pen and write a letter to Santa and post it in the big Santa Mailbox.
If your kiddos are keen to get even more creative, there’s still time to sign-up to one of Bowerbird’s kids’ workshops.
Both hosted by Little Picassos, let the kids’ creativity bloom in the Florals Still-life workshop on 23 November at 10:30am. During the guided workshop, youngsters will make stunning still-life floral artwork on big, high-quality paper, painting detailed vases and beautiful flowers using acrylics and inks.
The following day at 10:3oam, Little Picassos will host a Christmas Reindeer Portrait workshop for kids four to 15 years old.
With paints, fabrics, pom-poms, and tinsel, the mini makers will create a festive reindeer wearing a Christmas jumper, scarf, and a bauble nose. They can take both masterpieces home to frame or gift on Christmas day.

No festive event is complete without a meet-and-greet with the man in red himself! Bowerbird has pulled some strings and managed to fly in the original artisan toy maker – Santa!
On Sunday (24 November), from 10:30am to 4:30pm, you’ll have the chance to meet Santa in his workshop! Don’t forget your camera for the perfect photo, and you can support a great cause with a gold coin donation (all proceeds go to Catherine House, helping women experiencing homelessness in SA).
