Adelaide Fringe 2026: Josh Staley – Wacky Wizardry Goes Wrong

What happens when one of the world’s most precise magicians deliberately lets everything fall apart? You get Wacky Wizardry Goes Wrong — a joyful, chaotic and award-winning family magic show where nothing goes to plan, and that’s exactly the point.
Internationally recognised magician Josh Staley, who represented Australia at the World Championships of Magic in 2025, trades polish for pandemonium in this high-energy magic-comedy adventure created especially for children. What begins as an attempt to perform the “world’s greatest magic trick” quickly unravels into malfunctioning wands, rebellious props and an unexpected invasion of mischievous rubber chickens.
Designed for kids aged 4–9 (and the adults who bring them), the show blends slapstick comedy, physical theatre and genuine moments of wonder. The audience isn’t just watching — they’re invited to help fix the magic when it all hilariously goes off the rails, creating a shared experience that’s as heartwarming as it is hilarious.
Every child also leaves with a special magical memento, making this a Fringe experience families will be talking about long after the show ends.
