ABA Trades Christmas Community Fundraiser

From 12.30pm – 7.30pm on Saturday 21 December the ABA Trades annual Christmas Community Fundraiser will be filled with family fun including face painting, Farmer Darcy’s Travelling Farm petting zoo, a bouncy castle, a Gelato Bello gelati cart, a sausage sizzle, and of course, Santa who will be making a very special appearance for professional images at their Stepney location. To kick the festivities off, ABA will be decking their headquarters with their annual extravagant Christmas display from Thursday 7 November, this year going even bigger and better with more LED lights and decorations. Everyone is welcome! Fundraiser proceeds will go to Kickstart for Kids.

Christmas Unwrapped – Experience the Magic of Christmas with the ASO

Kick off the festive season with a bang as the Adelaide Festival Theatre comes alive with the sound of music, song, and laughter. Guided by your jovial host Guy Noble, the ASO, soprano Desiree Frahn, Graduate Singers and Elder Conservatorium Chorale come together for a concert that radiates the warmth and good cheer of this special season. Sing along as we deck the halls with a magnificent array of carols, beloved classics, and festive favourites. With plenty of opportunities to join in on the fun and frivolity, this concert will fill your heart with the joy of Christmas. The program will include; ARNOLD – The Holly and the Ivy (Fantasy on Christmas Carols), PROKOFIEV – Lieutenant Kijé: Troika, HOWARD BLAKE – The Snowman, ANDERSON – Sleigh Ride, plus sing along carols including an interactive 12 days of Christmas. Come and celebrate the Norwood Christmas Pageant! The Norwood Christmas Pageant is set to ignite the Christmas spirit on The Parade, Norwood with colourful floats, music and entertainment including live bands, clowns, dancers, fairies and more. Crowds are expected to line the streets from first thing in the morning and kids are encouraged to bring their chalk and decorate the street with Christmas drawings. The Pageant will start at Woods Street, Norwood and travel east along The Parade to Queen Street.

DIY: Modern Festive Ornaments

You will need: • Balls of yarn • Fork • Scissors • Craft glue • Cardboard • Acrylic paint • Paint brush • Clear baubles (You should be able to nd these at a craft shop or variety store!) • Paint pens • Styrofoam ball • Matches or toothpicks • Sequins • Pins (Make sure you get some with big enough heads so they don’t fall through the sequins!) Pom Pom Garland: 1. Wrap the wool around your fork, keeping it as tight as possible and tie a knot in the middle. 2. Cut each side down the middle and you have a pom pom! You will need to give them a little haircut to even out the sides 3. Repeat steps 1-3 until you have enough pom poms to fill your garland! Glue them all to a long piece of yarn. Cardboard Ornaments: 1. Cut some groovy shapes out of cardboard. 2. Paint your shapes! 3. Glue them together and glue a piece of yarn on as a hanger. Make some friends for your ornament! Sun Tree Topper: 1. Poke your matchsticks into your styrofoam ball around the circumference. 2. Stick the pins through the sequins. 3. Repeat step 2 a million times until your sun looks like this! TIP: Try using a smaller sized Christmas tree so you don’t spend the next 10 years making your decorations! Ours is a 3ft tiny tree and we love it! Now it’s time to decorate your tree!
