Exciting new playground opens in Tea Tree Gully

Tea Tree Gully's Golden Fields Reserve is home to a new adventure playground that promises endless fun for kids.

Located at the lower section of the reserve in Golden Grove, the new playground offers linked towers, multiple slides, a climbing wall, trampolines, a flying fox and much more.

City of Tea Tree Gully Mayor Marijka Ryan applauded the addition of the family-friendly attraction to the 12-hectare reserve.

The Golden Fields playground will positively impact on our community by encouraging more families to enjoy the outdoors together.

“We’re grateful to the State Government for assisting with funding, and to our community for their input on the project,” said Mayor Ryan

More than 20 years ago Pedare Ward councillor Bernie Keane raised the original idea to develop the reserve to cater to the growing number of families moving into the area.

“Golden Fields had humble beginnings and it’s taken a lot of time and work to get it to where it is today. The new playground is a welcome enhancement,” said Cr Keane.

“It’s fantastic for the City to have an adventure playground tailored to the preferences of older children, fostering outdoor recreation and enjoyment in the sunshine,” said fellow ward councillor Tammie Sinclair.

The project was jointly funded between the State Government and the City of Tea Tree Gully, with each contributing $750,000.

The playground also has an accessible toilet, car park and access road, a picnic shelter, and street and park furniture.

Golden Fields is also home to three other playground sections, a sports rage cage, a BMX track and a skate park.
