Located on Hahndorf’s main street, at the same location as Gathered’s Christmas Markets, the new store will showcase the best of local South Australian businesses, as well as serving coffee and cakes, and pop-up bars on the weekends.
Founder and Adelaide Hills local, Jenna O’Dell, began Gathered SA eight years ago with the aim of supporting local South Australian businesses and has always dreamed of having a permanent store.
“We have dreamed of a bricks-and-mortar store in Hahndorf for some years now for the locals and the tourists who visit and love buying local, there just isn’t anything like this in Hahndorf,” Jenna said.
It’s also a fantastic opportunity for our vendors to have an outlet where they can sell separately to the markets without having to own and work in a shop themselves.
“This new store will allow them to still have the time they need to run their businesses, be creative, and make their products, empowering the collective of small SA businesses involved to step away from retail and wholly invest in their business and craft, which was a really important aspect,” Jenna added.
Much like the markets, the new Gathered store in Hahndorf will stock a wide variety of products from local businesses offering everything from homewares to art, candles, jewellery, and clothing.
To ensure a wide variety of goods is offered to the public, the store will showcase a rotation of vendors, with Little Beba Clothing, REB Cosmetics, Miss Rose Sister Violet, and Chatterbox City, already locked in for the grand opening. Vendors will alternate every couple of weeks. In the future, Jenna hopes to host small events and workshops in the versatile space.
The new Gathered Store at Hahndorf is located at 102 Mt Barker Rd and is open seven days a week from 10am until 4pm. Hours are subject to change depending on seasons and special events throughout the year.
