This pathway offers students a seamless transition from secondary education to tertiary study, giving them reassurance of securing their academic futures after their time at CBC.
To be eligible for guaranteed entry, CBC students must complete specific components during their secondary schooling, including Research Project Stage 2, Activating Identities and Futures (AIF), the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), and no grade lower than a B- in essential prerequisite subjects.
This collaboration allows students to progress into the following academic courses at Flinders University:
- Business Pathway (Bachelor)
- Sports Pathway (Bachelor)
- Sports Pathway (Diploma)
“We are thrilled to partner with Flinders University to provide this incredible opportunity for our students. It relieves the uncertainty of waiting for an acceptance letter, especially during an already demanding and stressful time completing Year 12,” said Tia Milohis, CBC VET and Careers Counsellor.
With several courses included in each pathway such as a Bachelor of Accounting or Bachelor of Health Science, a key highlight of the CBC and Flinders University Higher Education Pathway is its Sports Pathway (Diploma). This pathway seamlessly integrates academic studies with hands-on experience through Flinders University’s partnership with Adelaide United Football Club. This gives enrolled students the opportunity to continue their soccer education both on and off the field.
“We have been able to work alongside Flinders University to provide the best possible opportunities for our boys to gain exposure in the soccer industry. Our partnership with Tottenham Hotspur has already opened many doors, and now with Flinders University, they have access to Adelaide United Football Club, giving them endless possibilities to pursue a career in soccer,” said David Johnston, CBC Principal.
The Higher Education Pathway reflects CBC’s commitment to academic excellence, providing students with the tools and resources needed to thrive in university and beyond.
“We are proud to be part of this initiative that opens doors for students and guarantees their entry into higher education,” said Professor Chris Brebner, Pro Vice Chancellor (Curriculum Impact) from Flinders University.
