The winning formula
Among the awards given, mumamoo – South Australia’s first female-founded and owned infant formula company scooped the the ‘New Product’ award at the highly regarded industry event.
“It’s been an exciting year of risk, reward and now industry recognition,” says mumamoo CEO, Belinda Humphris. “We are incredibly grateful for the support of the South Australian Independents – to be able to launch in such a supportive environment has no-doubt helped our local success and gain a critical foothold in the industry, ” she added.
This years South Australian Premier’s Food & Beverage Industry Awards 2021 attracted the highest volume of entries since the awards inception and had the theme of ‘Turning the Page’, in recognition of the vision for moving forward beyond the impacts of the past 18 months.
“While this year has been challenging for everyone, it’s also given us a renewed focus on disrupting a category that has been dominated and tightly held by multinationals for generations. Our customers are telling us exactly what they want and need – and that’s a premium Australian product at a fair price. Companies with a conscience are also important to our consumer and we are proud to deliver on all this and more,” says Belinda.
Launched in January this year by 3 South Australian mothers, mumamoo has disrupted the very traditional infant formula market through a mix of strategic digital marketing and strong focus on real-time customer service. With the founding mothers also the face of the brand, mumamoo has connected with a millennial consumer that is also keen to support an ethical brand with a social conscience. mumamoo donates a percentage of all online sales to PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia) and utilises it’s growing social media presence to support mothers who rely on alternatives to breastmilk.
mumamoo is available at 180 Drakes and Foodland stores across South Australia, as well as National Pharmacies across South Australian and Victoria.
