Banana Boogie Bakery has claimed the 2026 Australia’s Best Fruit Mince Pie title

One of Kiddo's favourite local bakeries has taken out the top prize at a national baking competition, and we couldn't be prouder.

In news that has us doing a happy dance, Banana Boogie Bakery, one of Kiddo’s absolute favourite local bakeries (and a firm favourite with our kids), has taken out the 2026 Australia’s Best Fruit Mince Pie title.

The win came at the Tasmanian Baking Show, held on 21 October in Launceston, and it was actually the bakery’s first-ever entry into the national fruit mince pie competition.

Co-owner Jason Spencer said the team had entered hoping for some feedback and a trip to Tasmania, not expecting to come home with the national title.

“A last minute entry into our first ever National Fruit Mince Pie Competition, a little trip to Launceston for the bosses, and somehow we’ve come home with the overall national title,” they wrote on Instagram.

“We knew we’d be up against some serious competition, especially our good friends at The Gumnut Patisserie, who took out the title last year. So we pulled out the recipe books, got that all-butter shortbread recipe happening and went to work.”

The team had just days to perfect their entry, and according to Jason, they absolutely nailed it.

“Our team had just a few days to get everything right, and they absolutely nailed it. Every little detail matters in these competitions, and everyone played their part in bringing this one home. This win belongs to the whole team.”

For Adelaide families, this is just another reason to pop into Banana Boogie Bakery and grab something delicious. Our kids already know it’s the best spot for treats, and now there’s a national title to prove it.
