Exciting news for ALL South Australian schools! Credit Union SA has just opened applications for their 2025 School Impact Program, giving all schools in the state the opportunity to apply for funding to support activities, facilities, and projects that benefit students and staff.

For the first time, the program is available to every school in South Australia—public, Catholic, and independent! Schools can apply for a range of funding between $2,000 and $20,000 to help improve the learning experience for students and provide vital resources for staff.

Launched in 2024, the School Impact Program is part of a 10-year commitment from Credit Union SA to invest $1 million into education across both city and regional schools in South Australia.

In its first year, the program provided $115,000 to 30 schools, easing the financial pressure on school communities by reducing the need for extra fundraising efforts.

Credit Union SA’s CEO, Todd Roberts, said, “Good education is essential for a strong community, and the School Impact Program helps schools create more engaging learning environments for students. We’re excited to see what new projects come to life this year!”

The funding can be used for all sorts of amazing initiatives—from upgrading school facilities and supporting teacher training, to funding school trips, extracurricular activities, and improving student wellbeing. It’s a fantastic way to enhance the overall school experience.

Jess Morris, Principal of Victor Harbor Primary School, was one of the recipients of last year’s funding.

“The funding has helped us cover the costs of our attendance bus, which is vital for getting our students to school and on school excursions. It’s a real game-changer for our community,” Jess says.

Applications are open online now until Friday, 4 July 2025. Schools will then be shortlisted, and judging will take place in Term 3.

How outdoor experiences fuel child development

There’s a kind of learning that can’t be replicated inside four walls. You see it when a child pauses to pocket a rock, float leaves in a puddle, or follow the path of a butterfly.
