Catering to students from Reception to Year 11, the centre ensures every learner is supported through tailored programs.

Zoe Walls (pictured top, left), the newly appointed manager of the Unley centre, knows this method well—she’s lived it.

Starting as a student at the age of nine, Zoe worked her way up through the ranks to become tutor, teacher, and now manager, reflecting the company’s commitment to supporting students every step of the way.

Zoe credits the success of NumberWorks’nWords to the tailored, individualised program each student receives.

“I can speak from personal experience, as I was once a student here myself,” Zoe shares.

“The tutors always took the time to understand my strengths, challenges, and learning style, and that made a huge difference in my growth.”

This nurturing environment is something Zoe has carried forward in her role as manager, ensuring all students receive the same level of support she once did

What sets NumberWorks’nWords apart is its focus on making learning enjoyable.

“We want students to look forward to their lessons, not just because they have to, but because they genuinely enjoy learning,” Zoe explains.

“Our tutors are dynamic, always encouraging, and ready to celebrate every achievement, no matter how small. When students feel successful, they’re motivated to keep going.”

This positive reinforcement is at the core of what makes the Unley centre stand out, leaving students feeling proud and eager to return.

The team uses a personalised approach to meet each student’s needs.

“We begin by assessing each student before their first lesson so we can set clear, achievable goals,” Zoe says.

This ongoing assessment ensures students progress at their own pace, celebrating every success along the way.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Zoe’s role is seeing the boost in student confidence.

“The first thing parents tell us is how much their child’s confidence has improved,” she says.

“This boost is often the first sign that the student feels understood and supported.” Zoe adds,

“Over time, we see many students who were struggling or barely passing move up to the top of their class, showing incredible growth in both numeracy and literacy.pace, celebrating every success along the way.
