A new era for gifted learners: St Raphael’s Accelerate Program connects potential with opportunity

St Raphael’s School, renowned for nurturing every child’s potential, has unveiled its Accelerate Program—a bespoke initiative crafted for primary-aged students who excel academically and need greater challenge, opportunity, and individual support.

Recognising that exceptional students have exceptional needs, the Accelerate Program is built on three key pillars:

1. Accelerated, individualised learning

Gifted learners often master standard curriculum well ahead of their peers. Through curriculum compacting, differentiation, and tailored extension, students pursue learning at a pace and depth matched to their potential whilst staying in their respective year level.

2. Personalised environment and support

With small class sizes and a hands-on, relational approach, teachers can focus on each gifted child—freeing them to stretch, inquire, and collaborate with likeminded peers. Individual Learning Plans ensure that every child’s strengths are celebrated, and every challenge thoughtfully addressed.

3. Holistic, future-focused preparation

The program seamlessly bridges primary and secondary gifted education by aligning with the renowned high school gifted programs, making transition smooth and confident. Strong social-emotional learning, creative thinking, and real-world skills all feature at the core, building well-rounded, resilient high achievers.

Principal Emma Fowler explains: “Gifted and highly capable children need a learning environment that recognises and celebrates their unique strengths—academically and beyond. Our Accelerate Program challenges each student, supports their wellbeing, and positions them for success in secondary school and in life.”

Who is the Accelerate Program for?

The program is ideal for children working in the 98th–99th percentile in certain subjects, or who have already mastered much of the mainstream curriculum and require a different kind of learning challenge.
