Happy Fairy Bread Day!

We've got hundreds and thousands of reasons to celebrate this sweet day!

To celebrate Fairy Bread Day on November 24, we’ve got three easy but equally delicious Fairy Bread recipes. Take your pick – or plate up all three!

While Fairy Bread Day is all about colour, fun and a treat for the taste buds, it’s also about raising funds for The Pyjama Foundation, an organisation dedicated to helping Australian foster kids.

1. Classic Fairy Bread

Ingredients:

  • White bread (4 slices)
  • Butter or margarine
  • Hundreds and Thousands

Instructions:

  1. Spread a thin layer of butter or margarine on each slice of bread.
  2. Generously sprinkle Hundreds and Thousands over the buttered bread.
  3. Cut the bread into triangles or your preferred shapes (i.e. squares, strips).
  4. Serve and enjoy this colourful, classic treat!

2. Chocolate Fairy Bread

Ingredients:

  • White or wholemeal bread (4 slices)
  • Nutella or chocolate spread
  • Hundreds and Thousands and mini marshmallows

Instructions:

  1. Spread a generous layer of Nutella or chocolate spread on each slice of bread.
  2. Sprinkle with colourful sprinkles or scatter mini marshmallows on top.
  3. Cut the bread into triangles or fun shapes using a cookie cutter.
  4. Enjoy this sweet twist on the traditional fairy bread!

3. Fruit Fairy Bread

Ingredients:

  • White bread (4 slices)
  • Cream cheese or ricotta cheese
  • Fresh fruit (i.e. sliced strawberries, banana, kiwi, or blueberries)
  • Hundreds and Thousands

Instructions:

  1. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese or ricotta cheese on each slice of bread.
  2. Arrange slices of fresh fruit on top of the bread.
  3. Sprinkle some Hundreds and Thousands for extra colour.
  4. Cut into fun shapes or triangles and enjoy a fruity version of fairy bread!
