Good news folks, Illuminate Adelaide 2022 is on its way and set to be bigger, wilder, louder and brighter. Get ready to shake off the winter blues and rekindle your sense of wonder with even better versions of our faves from last year, Light Cycles and Light Creatures, as well as some new adventures in light and sound to explore.

Shining a light on South Australia for the month of July, Illuminate Adelaide welcomes people from all walks of life to experience a program of free and ticketed events by local, national and international artists and companies.

Light Creatures

After a sold out 2021 season, Light Creatures is back to take you behind the gates of Adelaide Zoo after dark!

An evolving celebration of conservation, explore the historic precinct to encounter new up close and immersive experiences from lanterns, to interactive performance and even the newest Light Creature – a larger-than-life roaming tiger as it prowls the zoo grounds.

A nocturnal adventure for the whole family and featuring a few appearances from the zoo’s own furry and feathery residents, Light Creatures is back and set to be bigger and even wilder than before.

Light Cycles

Back by popular demand, the runaway hit of Illuminate Adelaide 2021 returns to Adelaide Botanic Garden.

This Australian-first production from celebrated Montreal studio Moment Factory once again transforms the lush greenery of the Adelaide Botanic Garden into an after-dark immersive experience connecting guests to the natural world like never before.

Palm House Light Cycles

After a sold-out season for its premiere run, Light Cycles’ encore season in 2022 is your chance to revisit or discover anew this world-leading blend of technical innovation and natural splendour right here in the city’s backyard.

From an ode to the setting sun in a tree-lined avenue to a spectacle of story and song in the garden’s Palm House, Moment Factory’s cutting edge use of light, lasers, projection and a moving original soundtrack promises to be as transcendent as ever — with a few new surprises.Thu 07 July – Sun 31 JulySessions available every 15 minutes
