Illuminate Adelaide is back from 1–19 July 2026, turning the city into a glowing winter playground packed with experiences the whole family can enjoy.
With more than 100 events across the program, including plenty of free installations, interactive experiences and after-dark adventures, it’s one of the best ways to get out and explore Adelaide during the cooler months.

A standout for kids (and big kids) is Augmented Games, an interactive gaming experience at Adelaide Showground where players become part of the action. Expect movement, competition and plenty of energy as digital and physical play collide.
At Adelaide Zoo, Universal Kingdom: Ice Age brings prehistoric creatures to life with giant puppets, glowing installations and immersive storytelling. It’s the final instalment in the much-loved series and perfect for families looking for a magical night out.

The ever-popular City Lights trail returns bigger than ever, with more than 50 free installations lighting up the CBD and extending into Rymill Park. From interactive artworks to roaming illuminated performers, it’s an easy, family-friendly way to explore the city after dark.
For something truly immersive, Night Visions at the Adelaide Botanic Garden offers a sensory night walk through a world of light, sound and nature, while Digital Abyss invites visitors into a stunning underwater-inspired digital environment.
With a mix of free and ticketed events, Illuminate Adelaide 2026 offers something for every age, making it a must-do during the winter school holidays.
