Helping kids learn and grow on Country

Nature Foundation has been chosen as one of the charity partners in Officeworks’ eighth annual Make a Difference Appeal, shining a spotlight on programs that help children learn, create and connect with a sustainable future.

Running throughout June, the Make a Difference Appeal gives Officeworks team members across the country the chance to support causes close to their hearts—and this year, 20 organisations have been selected, including Nature Foundation’s inspiring Kids on Country Junior Ranger Program.

Designed for Aboriginal youth, the program blends classroom learning with hands-on experience through a five-day camp held at one of Nature Foundation’s remote nature reserves. It’s part of a SACE-accredited course that not only connects young people with their cultural heritage but also introduces them to future pathways in conservation and land management.

Under the guidance of senior Aboriginal mentors, students are immersed in on-country learning, where they build vital skills while developing confidence and a strong sense of community.

Funds raised will directly support school and student participation in the program. Since its launch in 2016, Kids on Country has run 44 camps for more than 500 Aboriginal young people, helping them develop leadership and conservation skills, while offering a space of belonging and cultural empowerment.

The Make a Difference Appeal is part of Officeworks’ broader People & Planet Positive Plan, an ongoing commitment to drive social and environmental impact nationwide. Last year’s campaign raised over $830,000 for 16 charities across Australia.

This June, customers at Officeworks stores in Marion, Noarlunga, Adelaide, Keswick and Croydon—as well as five stores in Victoria—can support Nature Foundation by donating at the checkout in-store or online.
