Bowerbird: Australian Designers Flock to Adelaide This November

Australian Designers Flock to Adelaide This November

A carefully curated 200 stalls will offer the latest in Australian designed products at one of Australia’s leading design markets in Adelaide this November. The biannual Bowerbird Design Market returns to the Wayville Pavilion for three days from 4pm, Friday 23 November; perfectly positioned to offer a unique day out for shoppers and families a month before Christmas.

As the warmer months approach, the curators have chosen bright, spring and summer collections of textiles, clothing and accessories, bold ceramics, beautiful homewares and artworks to celebrate spring/summer and Christmas gifts for everyone on the Christmas list!

The Bowerbird team are also proud to announce the talented designers taking part in the Christmas event of 2018. Lots of creative newcomers are flocking to the popular event, including The Fallen with their range of large unique plant pots, bicycle bells from Beep, the bold, contemporary table trivets and hoop earrings of Champ, Billy Crellin with his functional glass tableware, and stylish leather earrings by new SA label Brookside. The full list can be found here.

Jane Barwick, an Adelaide based contemporary jeweller and the creative, energetic force behind Bowerbird is delighted with how the November event is shaping up,

“There’s something new to find at each event; Lots of one-off pieces and work created in small batches. A chance to commission a unique piece and purchase all your Christmas shopping in one place while supporting Australian designers…

The interactions between local designers and those from interstate, and those who are emerging and those who are established, contributes to the event’s richness.

The event itself emits a real sense of community and warmth. It’s the perfect place to meet friends for a drink and a meal – and shop, of course.”

Barwick and her team’ attentions have now turned to fleshing out the extra details that make Bowerbird an entire sensory experience.

“We are now busy organising the workshops and associated food and music offerings to complement the stalls and look forward to sharing more details soon. A lot of heart and soul goes into every aspect so we can deliver the perfect event!”

Expect local, artisan-made food, craft beverages, cool tunes and creative workshops added to the already stellar line up of contemporary fashion, art and design from some of Australia’s best independent designers and makers – which makes this a must-visit market and event.
