Brisbane mum of three, Friederike Kuehn, knows this struggle all too well. That’s why she created RIKKA, an Aussie brand that’s changing the game with stylish, practical phone straps, crossbody cases, and wrist straps that not only look good but are built to last.
“I was in Europe visiting family after the Covid lockdowns and saw phone straps everywhere,” says Friederike. “People in Germany, Italy, and France were all using them, so I decided to give it a go. I thought, ‘How did I live without this?!’ It was hands down the best travel accessory I’ve ever bought.”

Surprised that phone straps hadn’t caught on in Australia yet, and unimpressed with the options available, Friederike decided to create her own. After a year of researching, designing, and testing, RIKKA was born, offering a super stylish collection of crossbody straps that are as fashionable as they are functional.
RIKKA’s straps come in a rainbow of colours and styles and are made from high-quality materials that are both strong and durable. “Our phones hold so much of our lives – photos, social media, credit cards, even our driver’s license,” Friederike explains. “A phone strap makes everything easier, but I wanted to design one that people actually wanted to wear as part of their outfit. Plus, it had to be sturdy!”
RIKKA’s big innovation? The Universal Phone Strap – a game-changing design that fits all phone cases. It features a clever patch with a small loop that slides into your case, and the strap hooks on with ease. Hands-free, all day long!
The design was so impressive, it earned a nomination for the 2024 SHE-Com Awards, with the RIKKA Strap-N-Go (the strap, case, and adaptor set) making it to the finals.
“Being a mum, I can definitely see how helpful this is for parents who always have their hands full,” says Friederike. “But the straps are loved by everyone – from teens to grandparents.”
