Something Sebastian champions Australian-made cotton blankets

Australian parenting brand Something Sebastian has unveiled its latest collection of baby blankets, now made entirely from 100% organic Australian cotton.

For families seeking high-quality, locally made essentials, the new range blends heritage style with thoughtful updates designed for modern parents.

Since launching in August 2024, the brand has continued to evolve. While the blankets retain their signature timeless aesthetic, the refreshed collection features refined details, added colours and enhanced functionality. Founder and Owner Jess Dover says the improvements came directly from families.

“We understand the desires when it comes to what customers value most in a baby blanket,” says Jess.

“With Australian organic cotton, as well as being made right here in Australia, we have better quality control over the entire production of our blankets.”

Jess says the evolution reflects a long-term goal for the brand.

“Our vision at Something Sebastian has always been to be a beloved brand in homes around the world, known for our commitment to quality, innovation and beautiful design.”

Designed for growing kids

The new blankets feature a slightly heavier knit gauge and are now 30% larger, giving children extra warmth, comfort and room to grow. Each blanket is also pre-washed and pressed for convenience and showcases Something Sebastian’s signature organic cotton knitted patch.

Families can choose from five colours:

  • Grey

  • Desert Pink

  • Cream

  • Sage

  • Mocha (a previously limited-edition shade now made permanent)

Beautiful personalisation

Something Sebastian has also updated its popular personalised name tags. Previously crafted from leather, the tags are now made from cotton as part of the company’s commitment to ongoing innovation and sustainability.

Embroidery is available in two fonts:

  • Classic – a bold capital font

  • Ballantines – a cursive script

Parents can personalise blankets with a first name, surname or initials.

A brand born from motherhood

Something Sebastian is a passion project created by Jess during her journey through motherhood, named after her son, Sebastian. Each blanket reflects the love, care and craftsmanship behind the brand.

The full collection is available now online for $229, along with gift cards for families and gifting.
