The story behind Azure Belle
Azure Belle was founded in 2022 by Bryley, a Melbourne mum of three, after an experience that had nothing to do with swimwear on the surface. During her third pregnancy, her unborn son was diagnosed with a life-threatening condition at 20 weeks. He was born prematurely, spent seven weeks on life support, and 148 days in the NICU before the family brought him home.
It was in the aftermath of that experience, reassessing what mattered to her as a mother, that Bryley noticed something smaller but persistent: she dreaded swimming with her own kids whenever she had her period. She didn’t want to sit out, and she didn’t want her daughters to have to either.
That’s the gap Azure Belle was built to fill.
How the swimwear actually works
Azure Belle’s swimwear uses what the brand calls InnovSwim Technology, a thin, built-in absorbent layer designed for light to moderate flow days. The brand rates it to hold up to 6ml of fluid. For comparison, a standard tampon or pad holds around 5ml.
The fabric is designed not to swell in water, and Azure Belle states it’s free from fluorine and other added chemicals of concern. Rather than disposable, each piece is designed to be worn, washed and reused season after season.
What’s in the teen range
The teen collection runs to about 28 styles, spanning one-pieces, bikini sets and swim briefs. They’re designed to look like ordinary swimwear rather than anything obviously “different.” That’s clearly intentional. The whole point of a product like this is that a teenager can wear it to a pool party without it looking or feeling like anything other than a normal swimsuit.
No one needs to know. She can just swim.
Who is this for?
