Think freshly shucked oysters, icy cold champagne, live music drifting through the aisles, and the return of a festival favourite: the legendary Chilli Crab Shack. South Australian blue swimmer crab with chilli tamarind sauce, noodles, herbs and lime? Yes please.

What’s on the program

There’s plenty happening across both days, with some of South Australia’s top chefs taking centre stage for live cooking demonstrations. The Champagne Seafood Bar, presented by SiSea Moët Hennessy, will keep the grown-ups happy, while live music from Atlantic Street Band, Jazz in Cheek and live DJs adds to the buzzy atmosphere.

Fresh seafood specials will be available from traders across the Market, so come hungry and ready to explore.

For the kids

Little ones haven’t been forgotten. Face painting will keep them busy while you sample the goods, but the real highlight for families is the kids’ cooking class on Saturday 29 August.

little market chefs

Budding young chefs will be taken on a guided shopping tour of the Market before preparing their very own seafood dish. It’s a hands-on way to inspire the next generation of seafood lovers and give them a taste of where their food comes from.
