Augmented Games at Illuminate Adelaide 2026

Illuminate Adelaide, Augmented Games.
Get ready to run, jump and compete at Augmented Games, the interactive multiplayer experience coming to Adelaide Showground these winter school holidays.

Strap in and get ready to move, laugh, compete and repeat while the room comes alive beneath your feet!

These winter school holidays during Illuminate Adelaide, the Ridley Centre at the Adelaide Showground will transform into an interactive gaming experience – Augmented Games presented by RAA. Split into separate courts, these games are designed for you to be the controller. Compete in a series of electrifying multiplayer challenges that merge physical fun with digital technology, making its first debut in Australia exclusively in Adelaide.

Illuminate Adelaide, Augmented Games, Memory.

The courts will interact with each players movements, recognising when you run, jump, and move around the court. With no screens or headsets, expect the perfect mix of physical activity and digital gaming. But Augmented Games isn’t just for the kids: it’s fun for the entire family. Take it at your own pace – whether you’re challenging your teammates or just in it for the thrill. If you’re there to watch the kids and cheer from the sidelines, there are grandstands complete with food and drink available for purchase too.

This extraordinary interactive game is from the imagination of Moment Factory – the studio responsible for Illuminate Adelaide past favourites like Light Cycles and Resonate. This Canadian-based multidisciplinary studio specialises in creation, design and production of immersive environments that aim to inspire awe, thrills and delights.

Illuminate Adelaide, Augmented Games, Grid.

Each individual and unique game is set to ignite the competitive side in all of us. Play alone, as a duo or in a team. In the game Memory, teams need to remember symbols on surrounding tiles. When tiles are flipped, a symbol will appear in the centre. The goal is to quickly locate and step on the matching tile before time runs out. Or perhaps virtual tennis is more your style? Then the game Grid will be the perfect game for you: face each other on either side of the court and move your virtual racket to place the ball in play. Or go head-to-head in a speed dual with the Pathfinder game: memorise the temporary path created by a series of digital tiles and follow it as quickly as possible to get ahead of your opponents.

You can play all of these and more at Augmented Games during Illuminate Adelaide this year – it’s guaranteed enjoyment for everyone!
