As families prepare for the cooler months, National Pharmacies has announced free flu vaccinations for all eligible members, removing cost as a barrier to protecting community health this winter.
For the first time, the member-owned organisation is offering complimentary flu vaccinations to its more than 160,000 members, helping make preventative healthcare more accessible for families across Australia.
With seasonal influenza posing a greater risk to young children, older adults and those with underlying health conditions, the initiative aims to encourage more people to get vaccinated early and reduce the spread of illness in the community.
Members can book their vaccination at a time that suits them across 46 National Pharmacies locations, making it easier for busy families to access protection before flu season peaks.
National Pharmacies Chief Executive Officer Mark Smith says the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to community wellbeing.
“At a time when health systems are under pressure, this is a clear demonstration of what a member-owned organisation can do when it puts community wellbeing first,” he said.
“Prevention, access and equity matter — and this initiative delivers on all three.”
For families who are not yet members, joining is simple and provides immediate access to the free flu vaccination offer along with other health and pharmacy benefits.
With winter approaching, the initiative provides a practical way for parents to protect themselves and their children while helping reduce pressure on healthcare services.
Bookings are now open online.
