Back by popular demand, Gravity & Other Myths’ acclaimed production Ten Thousand Hours returns to Adelaide Fringe in 2026, reaffirming its place as one of the festival’s most celebrated circus works.
Described by The Guardian UK as a “superhuman squad”, Gravity & Other Myths has captivated audiences worldwide with its signature blend of innovative storytelling and extraordinary physical skill. Set in the intimate surrounds of Gluttony’s The Peacock, Ten Thousand Hours invites audiences behind the curtain of a world-class circus creation.
The show follows eight elite acrobats and a musician as they investigate physical skill — how it is developed, refined and how it transforms the lives of those who pursue it. With raw physicality and emotional depth, the performance is a tribute to the countless hours of practice, discipline and sacrifice required to reach the highest level of acrobatic mastery.
More than a performance, Ten Thousand Hours is a celebration of the journey rather than the destination, acknowledging that the backstory is often more spectacular than the final result. It is a powerful love letter to the human body and the incredible things it can achieve.
Since premiering their debut work Freefall at Adelaide Fringe in 2010, Gravity & Other Myths has become a global sensation, performing for more than one million people across more than 45 countries. With multiple five-star reviews across Australia and internationally, Ten Thousand Hours continues to leave a lasting impression on audiences of all ages.
