With autumn upon us and winter hot (or should we say cold…?) on its heels, this is around the time of year when washing machines start getting a workout and our kiddos’ clothes have the potential to wear out. The winter wet sure can be unforgiving on the fragile fabrics and fave outfits of our petite people who just can’t help but get themselves dirty.
Whether it’s rolling, crawling, bum shuffling, walking or just having good old fashioned fun in the mess, keeping clothes protected can seem like the impossible task when messy play is calling and there are adventures to be had.
Enter Little Mud Co. A sustainable outerwear brand designed for the youngest explorers (aged 6 months to 2 years) so parents can be prepared for play time, any time and so kids…can be kids!
With Little Mud Co, our small explorers can crawl around on the tanbark without destroying their pants, take their first steps and fall into a puddle, be the first to zoom down the slide after it rains and not have a soggy bum for the rest of the day. They can discover shells in the rock-pools without getting wet sleeves and eat watermelon in the peak of summer and not get sticky tummies.
Designed by two mums from Melbourne, Nadia Hobart & Sally Siapantas, with a vision to create sustainable, lightweight, water resistant outerwear to protect and promote play, Little Mud Co pieces are splash-proof, made from 100% recycled nylon and designed to be worn over clothes to protect them from getting dirty.
With the first to market a unique signature mud pocket it allows each piece to be rolled up (or scrunched) and tucked into itself before and after use. This means it can be easily stored neatly inside the smallest of bags, so that you don’t get caught out in a messy situation ever again. Sounds like pure genius to us!
The Mums Behind Little Mud Co.
Nadia has a background in education, as well as formerly having her own fashion label, while Sally has over 10 years experience as a Buyer at MECCA Brands, working alongside many of the incredible established and future up and coming brands.
Nadia and Sally are two environmentally conscious mums with a desire to make the most of their children’s early years without being limited by bad weather and getting dirty. Feeling inspired by their own childhood, when they would have endless fun outside, Nadia and Sally have modernised the ‘80’s wet weather gear’ and created timeless, water resistant pieces for children to get messy and just be kids (without the added laundry).
Between them they both have an eye for design and can spot a trend from a mile away. Together they have created and designed a functional, practical and truely innovative collection that will have mothers thanking them for many years to come.
Little Mud Co aims to give children every opportunity to explore, play, get muddy, make a mess, have fun and look cute while doing so!
