Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions a family can make. At Prince Alfred College, we invite you to experience our vibrant learning community first-hand through a school tour.

A school tour offers a unique opportunity to experience feel of the school, explore the campus, see the dynamic learning environments and meet our passionate educators. Whether joining a Headmaster’s Tour or a Personal Tour, you’ll discover what makes Prince Alfred College a place where boys thrive academically, socially and personally.

Headmaster, David Roberts, shared: “Our Headmaster’s Tour is an informal walk through the College in a small group setting. It’s a chance to see our boys in action – engaged in learning, collaborating with peers, and interacting confidently with teachers.”

Tours provide direct access to our teaching and leadership teams, providing a deeper understanding of our commitment to wellbeing, character development and academic excellence. “We visit classrooms and speak with students who are eager to share their work,” adds Mr Roberts.

Personal Tours, led by Director of Admissions, Sarah Onions, are tailored to suit your interests at a time that suits you. “Seeing the school culture, student engagement, and daily routines firsthand helps families to assess whether the College is the right fit,” says Mrs Onions. “It gives families confidence in their decision-making.”

Deputy Headmaster/Head of Preparatory School, Jon Gelsthorpe highlights what families can expect: “Morning tours will feature English lessons, which require high cognitive energy – ideal for when boys are most ready to learn. You’ll also see hands-on STEM activities, from boys getting their hands dirty in the garden, to racing their created model F1 cars, or launching rockets on the Front Oval. At Thursday afternoon sport, boys from Year 2 to Year 6 develop skills, game-sense, and build relationships and a sense of belonging – something that is at the heart of Prince Alfred College.”

Parents frequently comment on the calm, focused atmosphere and small class sizes. Many are surprised by the scale of the 9.8-hectare campus and impressed by the blend of future-focused education and tradition. “Families often leave with a strong sense of our values and vision for educating boys,” says Mrs Onions.
