TIMELIGHT: Beyond Our Ticking World is a new, interactive experience coming exclusively to ILA (Australia’s Centre for Immersive Light and Art) in Adelaide—and it’s like stepping into a real-life science-fiction story filled with lights, movement, sound, and wonder!

Created by the world-famous Berlin studio flora&faunavisions, TIMELIGHT isn’t just something you watch—it’s something you become a part of. From glowing spheres to giant ticking gears, you’ll play, touch, and move through a stunning digital world, all made up of over 12.5 million pixels across massive LED walls.

“At ILA, we’re committed to showcasing not only the best of art and technology in Australia, but globally as well. TIMELIGHT ‘Beyond our ticking world’ by flora&faunavisions is the first in an exciting new and ongoing program of events at ILA,” says Becc Bates, CEO of ILA.

“We’re delighted to be working with this internationally renowned creative company, after a sold out and extended season of EDEN, as part of Illuminate Adelaide in 2024. TIMELIGHT offers visitors the same magical experience of bringing a digital screen to life at the touch of their fingertips, in a way that is bigger and better than ever.”

What to expect

TIMELIGHT takes visitors on a 30-minute journey through three incredible chapters, each exploring a different idea of time:

Chapter One: Capturing Universal Time

Float through a world of glowing lights and mysterious motion, where time stretches and bends in magical ways.

Chapter Two: Inside the Clock

Step into a massive time machine and play a fast-paced interactive game with pulsing lights and ticking gears!

Chapter Three: Time in Circle

Slow down and watch nature change—trees grow, shadows shift, and people age—all at your fingertips.

“It is a sensory reminder that time is not just what moves us forward, but what connects us to everything,” says Leigh Sachwitz, Founder and CEO of flora&faunavisions.

Before or after your journey, grab a bite or sip something delicious at the ILA café, or enjoy a fancy dinner at Aurora Restaurant (open Friday and Saturday nights only). And don’t forget to add your own thoughts to the giant wall of time, where everyone can share what time means to them.

TIMELIGHT: Beyond Our Ticking World is fun, inspiring, and perfect for curious minds of all ages. Book your tickets early—this world-first experience is one you won’t want to miss! Book here.
