Play-Based Learning With A Talkative Twist
In the early years, play, language and connection go hand-in-hand. Recently, the school started playgroup sessions featuring a local, qualified Speech Pathologist. The idea came about as an additional way to support language development of children in the community whilst still offering play-based learning. Most children who attend playgroup are in the critical stages of speech and language development, so by creating space for curiosity, conversation and collaboration in those beginning years, the school is laying down the foundation for confident communicators who enter the classroom empowered and ready to thrive.
CRIB – Making Parent Engagement Fuss-Free
Through our CRIB group—standing for Community, Relationships, Inclusion, Belonging—parents are empowered to connect with the school on their own terms. The School of the Nativity recognised that meaningful community engagement happens when participation is simple and pressure-free. Rather than being tied to committees or constant volunteering, families receive a clear calendar of events and can easily nominate where they feel best suited to contribute. This flexible model has led to increased attendance and deeper connections among parents, strengthening the overall school community and its sense of belonging.
A Stage for Joy, Connection, and Confidence
With year-around access to the onsite Campus Performing Arts Centre, Nativity students have the chance to step into the spotlight and share their gifts in music, dance, and drama throughout the year. One of the most cherished events each year is the Grandparents and Special Friends Day concert. This joyful occasion is filled with laughter, energy, and music as families come together to support and celebrate their child performing skits and musical dances. It’s these opportunities which create a sense of pride and belonging that extend well beyond the classroom and allow young learners to grow in confidence, creativity, and self-expression.
