DreamBIG review: Imagine LIVE

Teacher and KIDDO reviewer, Dimi Galantomos, took her two kiddos to the opening of the DreamBIG Children’s Festival, setting the perfect scene for a day full of fun and wonder. There was so much for kids to see, explore, and enjoy. One of the highlights of the day was Imagine LIVE, a vibrant performance based on Alison Lester’s beloved book Imagine.

This interactive show invited children to let their imaginations run wild. Was it about animals? Or was it about seeing the magic in the simple things we encounter every day? Either way, it opened a world of possibilities where children could dream, play, and create using everyday objects and their own creativity.

The performance stood out thanks to its clever use of colourful props, engaging storytelling, and a beautiful connection between the characters—Soli and her Nanna—through modern technology.

The cast was energetic, imaginative, and incredibly talented. One of the most delightful elements was the live violinist, who brought the story to life through music and emotion.

Imagine LIVE truly captured the joy of storytelling and the endless power of a child’s imagination.
