The South Aussie cookies Santa will love

Renowned for its locally made New York-style cookies, Blondie’s Bakehouse joins the Adelaide Central Market's Producer in Residence Stall.

If you’re in need of a stash of cookies to leave out for Santa, head to the Markets before 7 December for a taste of Blondie’s Bakehouse’s chunky, gooey goodness and irresistible cookie flavours.

Customer favourites include the Red Velvet Cookie, a decadent treat with a creamy centre and chunks of rich white chocolate, and the iconic New York Style Cookie filled with dark chocolate and toasted walnuts—think Levain Bakery vibes, but in Adelaide!

Before launching Blondie’s Bakehouse, founder and baker, Maria, perfected her baking craft running Mary’s Pantry, where she supplied Greek cookies to local cafés. It was there she learned the importance of top-quality ingredients and building strong relationships with customers—and it sparked the idea for her next big venture.

“I’ve always loved baking, but the inspiration for Blondie’s Bakehouse came from wanting to create something bold and unique,” says Maria. “The real ‘aha’ moment was realising I could turn my passion into a business that brings joy to others.”

The Adelaide Central Market Producer in Residence program gives businesses like Blondie’s Bakehouse a brilliant chance to showcase their products in the Market, with a new producer taking the spotlight every three weeks.

For any aspiring entrepreneurs eyeing the program, Maria’s advice is simple: “Go for it! Be passionate, be ready to learn, and don’t shy away from taking risks. The support and exposure you get are priceless!”
