From the soaring trumpets of Star Wars to the heart-pounding percussion of The Avengers, this captivating performance brings the world of film to life, with a special focus on making music accessible for all. Whether it’s discovering which instrument gives Darth Vader his menacing sound in the Imperial March or getting swept up in the thrill of action-packed scores, it’s an afternoon of musical fun for the whole family.
For families of children with additional needs, the ASO’s Relaxed performance provides an inclusive and sensory-friendly environment. This concert has been developed in partnership with Can:Do 4Kids, The Foskett Foundation, Beyond Bank, Access2Arts, and Tutti Arts to ensure that children with sensory, communication, or learning needs can enjoy the magic of live music in a comfortable setting.
The Relaxed concert includes:
- A downloadable visual storybook to help prepare your family for the experience
- Breakout spaces and adjusted lighting to create a calmer environment
- Auslan interpreters to ensure everyone can fully engage with the performance
- Seating adjustments, including bean bags and cushions, with ample room to move freely
- Presenter-led advice on when a piece may be loud or energetic, allowing families to move to breakout spaces or use headphones if needed
