For the fourth year, traders will supply all produce for lunch for 70 women to enjoy at the Centre on Christmas Day.
Market traders involved in contributing food productsto Catherine House include Con’s Fine Foods, O’Connell’s Meats, Angelakis Bros. Seafood, Jagger Fine Foods, Providore, Skala Bakery and Wills and Daniel.
Catherine House is the State’s only recovery-based service for women experiencing homelessness.
Adelaide Central Market General Manager Fabienne Reilly said the Market was delighted to support Catherine House once again this festive season.

“The past 12 months has seen an unprecedented increase in the cost of living, and food insecurity is sadly affecting many South Australian households. This, together with the current rental crisis and lack of affordable housing, has seen an increase in people, particularly women, finding themselves homeless for the first time. The demand for our services continues to be at an all-time high in our 35-year history.”

A thriving hub of food and culture for more than 150 years, and with over 70 traders under one roof, the Adelaide Central Market is one of the largest undercover fresh produce markets in the southern hemisphere.
The Market is trading extended hours this Christmas, including 7am to 5pm on Saturday 23 December and from 7am to 3pm on Christmas Eve, Sunday 24 December.
