The Barossa Valley Chocolate Company and Prancing Pony Brewery have joined forces to bring the Pony Stable to the Barossa. From December 9, 2023 through to end of Easter 2024, the Eastern Lawns of Barossa Valley Chocolate Company will be home to the Pony Stable, an inclusive outdoor space where people can enjoy the beautiful views, Prancing Pony Brewery world class beers, a special summer menu from Barossa Valley Chocolate Company Benni’s Café and outdoor games in a welcoming, family friendly setting.
Both are iconic South Australian businesses in their own right, with many accolades shared between them, they were a natural fit to match the super flavoursome Pony beers with the delicious handcrafted Barossa Valley Chocolate Company chocolates.
Prancing Pony Brewery’s CEO and Co-Founder Corinna Steeb, a trained Medical Scientist, loves to combine chocolate flavours with beer. “It is scientifically proven that the irresistible melt-in-the mouth sensation of chocolate is created by a coating of the mouth which forms the perfect background to enhance the beer flavours,” she says.
“When you eat the delicate Barossa Valley Chocolate Company’s Simply the Zest White Chocolate Praline and then sip on our Pale Ale, the fruity hoppy flavours are amplified,” explains Corinna. “Or when you pair our Black Ale with the Golden Café Milk Chocolate Praline the coffee flavours in the beer are lifted and you taste roasted malts and a slight bitterness comes through; I call it the 1 plus 1 equals 3 flavour experience.”
With more than 250 hand crafted chocolates, a Gelati Bar filled with 17 house-made gelati, 100 seat onsite café, Vineyard Road cellar door with tastings and experiences, outdoor games, beautiful sprawling lawns, a generous deck overlooking the lake, Barossa Valley Chocolate Company already provide a unique experience in Barossa.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Prancing Pony Brewery, not only with the Pony Stable, but also a brand-new beer and chocolate tasting experience,” says Kate McClure, General Manger BVCC.
We have several special tastings on our menu, but this one is truly unique. Five world class beers paired with five of our hand-crafted chocolates. Each pairing showcases incredible flavours from both the chocolate and the beer. It’s a ‘must try’ experience.

Prancing Pony Brewery’s home stable is in nearby Adelaide Hills, and the team are thrilled to be able to extend their reach to Barossa. Corinna says:
We are so proud of the community we have built at our home in Totness, and to be able to bring this to life in Barossa is really exciting. We can’t wait for visitors and locals alike to be able to enjoy our craft this summer.
This new collaboration has further amplified the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company as the place-to be when visiting or living in the Barossa, with something for everyone young and old.
