Adelaide’s leafy inner east is set to be home to a new community park in coming months, with construction of the new mega park and playground in Glenside’s Cedar Wood nearing completion.

Glenside Playground

The $400million development that will connect Adelaide’s parklands is set to be 15,000sqm and includes cycling paths as well as playgrounds, multi use basketball courts, BBQ’s and sheltered areas.

Designed by leading landscape architects, the park will also include an exercise track around its’ perimeter, and a walking path creating a link across Greenhill Road into the adjacent Victoria Park and into the city.

The play spaces for younger and older children have been thoughtfully designed around the treelined perimeter of the park, with climbing structures and nets, tube slides, swings, a half court basketball court and ALL the grass for running or kicking a footy around. New trees are also being planted to provide additional shade and to complement the mature trees around the park’s edge.

Due to open in the coming weeks in June 2021, the playground is looking pretty spot on to its original design plans, and looks to be an awesome multi-use area for families.

The Glenside playground and community park is on the corner of Fullarton and Greenhill road connecting to Victoria Park.

You can never have too many family-friendly community green spaces, and we can’t wait to give this one a test run when it officially opens to the public!
