Spin in the Arcade Event

To celebrate the SA History Festival, members of the Handspinners and Weavers Guild of South Australia will host a special event in Adelaide Arcade.

Join us on Saturday, 18 May from 10am to 3pm to watch them weave, spin, and learn more about their craft. They will also display a fleece through to a knitted and woven product and some items that reflect the history of the craft through the years.

When: Saturday, 18 May from 10am to 3pm
Where: Adelaide Arcade (Adelaide & Gay’s Arcade intersection)

About the Handspinners and Weavers Guild of South Australia

Members of the Handspinners and Weavers Guild of South Australia have been spinning, weaving and crafting since 1963. They help maintain skills and techniques that have been passed down for generations and encourage the development of new techniques and ideas that make their crafts more relevant to modern lifestyles. They carry on this ancient craft with all kinds of fibre available here in Australia, from different breeds of sheep wool, alpaca, and mohair to silk, dog fibre, and even wombat fur!

The event is finished.
