Relaxed, sensory friendly morning at the South Australian Museum

A sensory-friendly evening for visitors of all ages, their families, friends, and support workers.

Visitors with sensory or accessibility needs such as autism can enjoy a quieter, less crowded visit to the Museum out of hours. This is a chance to see all the permanent galleries, and maybe discover something you’ve never noticed before.

While everyone is always welcome at the Museum, sometimes the crowds and noise make visits harder for neurodivergent visitors and those living with a disability. Some of the screens, lights and sounds around the Museum will be altered for the evening to make it a more sensory friendly experience. Sensory backpacks will also be available to borrow free of charge.

This is a ticketed event for people with sensory needs and their accompanying family, friends or support workers. Please purchase a ticket for all attendees when you book, as numbers are limited to ensure a quiet environment.

This is a pay-what-you-can event:

Please contribute what you can afford to give for each ticket and enjoy this event. Our access programming is funded solely through donations and we’re grateful for every contribution no matter how big or small. Your contribution will help us to continue to present these programs into the future.
