Theatre Review: Stacks On

FAMILY-FRIENDLY THEATRE REVIEW: KIDDO reviewer, Katie, took her kiddo to see Stacks On presented by Cirkidz at Marion Cultural Centre.

WORDS: Katie Brown

Today we had the pleasure of attending a truly remarkable show that captivated audiences of all ages. From the moment it began, it was clear that this performance was something special.

Cirkidz presents Stacks On, a brand-new all-ages circus show, now showing at Marion Cultural Centre until Saturday 20th of July. This spectacular performance features incredible home-grown acrobats alongside the Babblers – everyone’s favourite balancing toy brought to life as life-sized characters.

The acrobatics were nothing short of amazing, with performers displaying incredible strength and balance in every act. Each routine was a perfect blend of precision and imagination, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats. The show offers unique storytelling as the cast builds towering stacks of fun with the whimsical Babblers. These characters remind us that despite our differences, we all share the dream to reach for the stars. With layers upon layers of thrilling acrobatics, the sky’s the limit as to how high they can build!

Drawing inspiration from global tales of tower building and the excitement of tumbling down, the talented acrobats and Babblers work together to create an enchanting experience for the whole family. This show is filled with acrobatics, puppetry, magic, and plenty of belly laughs for all ages. Our three-year-old reviewer loved the show, offering lots of claps and big smiles—5 stars!

One of the highlights of Stacks On is the interactive ending, where the audience is invited to come up and place their own Babbler on the tower—a delightful activity that all the children loved.

Built right here in Adelaide at the SA Circus Centre, the home of Cirkidz, Stacks On celebrates human ingenuity and ambition. It’s an inspiring, towering adventure you won’t want to miss!

Perfect for kids and adults alike, this show is a fantastic experience, showcasing amazing acrobatics, incredible strength, and boundless imagination. The combination of skill, creativity, and sheer talent made it an unforgettable event. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a mesmerising and entertaining experience.
